[마태복음20장]

1 “하늘 나라는 이렇게 비유할 수 있다. 어떤 포도원주인이 있었는데 아침 일찍 일꾼을 구하려고 나갔다.

2 그는 일꾼들에게 하루 한 데나리온씩 주기로 약속하고 그들을 포도원에 들여보냈다.

3 [a]시쯤 되어 다시 나가 보니 일거리가 없어 장터에서 놀고 섰는 사람들이 있었다.

4 그래서 주인이 ‘너희도 내 포도원에 가서 일하라. 일한 것만큼 삯을 주겠다’ 하자 그들이 포도원에 갔다.

5 주인은 [b]12시와 오후 [c]3시에도 나가서 그렇게 하였다.

6 오후 [d]5시에도 나가 보니 여전히 일거리가 없어 섰는 사람들이 있었다. ‘너희는 어째서 하루 종일 여기서 놀고 섰느냐?’ 하고 주인이 묻자

7 ‘우리를 쓰는 사람이 없습니다’ 하고 그들이 대답하였다. 그래서 주인은 ‘너희도 내 포도원에 가서 일하라’ 하였다.

8 “날이 저물자 주인은 포도원 감독에게 ‘일꾼을 불러 나중 온 사람부터 차례로 품삯을 주어라’ 하고 말하였다.

9 오후 5시에 온 사람들이 와서 한 데나리온씩 받기에

10 먼저 온 사람들은 좀더 많이 받을 줄로 생각했으나 그들도 한 데나리온밖에 받지 못했다.

11 그래서 그들은 품삯을 받고 주인에게 불만을 털어놓기 시작했다.

12 ‘나중에 온 사람들은 한 시간밖에 일하지 않았는데 종일 더위에 시달리며 수고한 우리와 똑같이 대우해 줍니까?’

13 “그러나 주인은 그들 중 한 사람에게 이렇게 대답하였다. ‘내가 네게 잘못한 것이 없다. 네가 나와 한 데나리온으로 약속하지 않았느냐?

14 네 것이나 가지고 가거라. 나중에 온 이 사람에게 너와 똑같이 주는 것은 내 마음이다.

15 내 것을 가지고 내 마음대로 못한단 말이냐? 내 너그러움이 네 비위에 거슬리느냐?’

16 “이와 같이 앞선 사람이 뒤떨어지고 뒤진 사람이 앞설 것이다.”

높은 자리에 앉고자 하는 사람

17 예수님이 예루살렘으로 올라가실 때 열두 제자를 따로 데리고 가시면서 도중에 이렇게 말씀하셨다.

18 “지금 우리는 예루살렘으로 올라가고 있다. 거기서 [e]나는 대제사장들과 율법학자들의 손에 넘어갈 것이다. 그들은 나에게 사형 선고를 내린 다음

19 나를 이방인들에게 넘겨 조롱하고 채찍질하고 십자가에 못박게 할 것이다. 그러나 나는 3일 만에 다시 살아날 것이다.”

20 그때 세베대의 아내가 두 아들을 데리고 예수님께 와서 절하였다.

21 예수님께서 물으셨다. “네가 원하는 것이 무엇이냐?” “저의 이 두 아들을 주님의 나라에서 하나는 주님의 오른편에, 하나는 주님의 왼편에 앉게 해 주십시오.”

22 “너희는 구하고 있는 것이 무엇인지도 모르고 있다. 내가 곧 마시게 될 [f]고난의 쓴 잔을 너희도 마실 수 있겠느냐?” “마실 수 있습니다.”

23 “너희가 정말 내 잔을 마실 것이다. 그러나 내 오른편과 왼편에 앉는 것은 내가 정하는 것이 아니라 내 아버지께서 미리 정해 놓으신 사람들의 것이다.”

24 듣고 있던 열 제자가 두 형제를 보고 화를 내자

25 예수님이 그들을 가까이 불러 이렇게 말씀하셨다. “너희가 아는 대로 세상의 통치자들은 백성을 권력으로 지배하고 고관들은 세도를 부린다.

26 그러나 너희는 그럴 수 없다. 너희 중에 누구든지 크게 되고 싶은 사람은 남을 섬기는 사람이 되어야 하고

27 으뜸이 되고 싶은 사람은 남의 종이 되어야 한다.

28 [g]나는 섬김을 받으러 온 것이 아니라 섬기러 왔으며 많은 사람의 [h]죄값을 치르기 위해 내 생명마저 주려고 왔다.”

29 그들이 여리고를 떠나갈 때 많은 군중이 예수님을 따랐다.

30 그런데 두 소경이 길가에 앉아 있다가 예수님이 지나가신다는 말을 듣고 큰 소리로 “다윗의 후손이신 주님, 우리를 불쌍히 여겨 주십시오!” 하고 외쳤다.

31 군중들이 그들을 꾸짖으며 조용히 하라고 했으나 그들은 더 큰 소리로 “다윗의 후손이신 주님, 우리를 불쌍히 여겨 주십시오” 하고 외쳤다.

32 예수님이 걸음을 멈추시고 그들을 불러 “왜 그러느냐?” 하고 물으시자

33 그들은 “주님, 우리 눈을 뜨게 해 주십시오” 하고 대답하였다.

34 예수님이 그들을 불쌍히 여겨 눈을 만지시자 그들은 곧 눈을 뜨고 예수님을 따라갔다.

The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard

1 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard. 2 He agreed to pay them a denarius[a] for the day and sent them into his vineyard.

3 “About nine in the morning he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing. 4 He told them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.’ 5 So they went.

“He went out again about noon and about three in the afternoon and did the same thing. 6 About five in the afternoon he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?’

7 “‘Because no one has hired us,’ they answered.

“He said to them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard.’

8 “When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.’

9 “The workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius. 10 So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius. 11 When they received it, they began to grumble against the landowner. 12 ‘These who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat of the day.’

13 “But he answered one of them, ‘I am not being unfair to you, friend. Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius? 14 Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you. 15 Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’

16 “So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”

Jesus Predicts His Death a Third Time

17 Now Jesus was going up to Jerusalem. On the way, he took the Twelve aside and said to them, 18 “We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death 19 and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!”

A Mother’s Request

20 Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down, asked a favor of him.

21 “What is it you want?” he asked.

She said, “Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.”

22 “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them. “Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?”

“We can,” they answered.

23 Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.”

24 When the ten heard about this, they were indignant with the two brothers. 25 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Two Blind Men Receive Sight

29 As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him. 30 Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

31 The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

32 Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.

33 “Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.”

34 Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.

Parábola de los viñadores

1 »Asimismo, el reino de los cielos se parece a un propietario que salió de madrugada a contratar obreros para su viñedo. 2 Acordó darles la paga de un día de trabajo[a] y los envió a su viñedo. 3 Cerca de las nueve de la mañana,[b] salió y vio a otros que estaban desocupados en la plaza. 4 Les dijo: “Vayan también ustedes a trabajar en mi viñedo y les pagaré lo que sea justo”. 5 Así que fueron. Salió de nuevo a eso del mediodía, y luego a la media tarde e hizo lo mismo. 6 Alrededor de las cinco de la tarde, salió y encontró a otros más que estaban sin trabajo. Les preguntó: “¿Por qué han estado aquí desocupados todo el día?”. 7 “Porque nadie nos ha contratado”, contestaron. Él les dijo: “Vayan también ustedes a trabajar en mi viñedo”.

8 »Al atardecer, el dueño del viñedo ordenó a su capataz: “Llama a los obreros y págales su salario, comenzando por los últimos contratados hasta llegar a los primeros”. 9 Se presentaron los obreros que habían sido contratados cerca de las cinco de la tarde y cada uno recibió la paga de un día. 10 Por eso, cuando llegaron los que fueron contratados primero, esperaban recibir más. Pero cada uno de ellos recibió también la paga de un día. 11 Al recibirla, comenzaron a murmurar contra el propietario. 12 “Estos que fueron los últimos en ser contratados trabajaron una sola hora —dijeron—, y usted los ha tratado como a nosotros que hemos soportado el peso del trabajo y el calor del día”. 13 Pero él contestó a uno de ellos: “Amigo, no estoy cometiendo ninguna injusticia contigo. ¿Acaso no aceptaste trabajar por esa paga? 14 Tómala y vete. Quiero darle al último obrero contratado lo mismo que te di a ti. 15 ¿Es que no tengo derecho a hacer lo que quiera con mi dinero? ¿O te da envidia que yo sea generoso?”.[c]

16 »Así que los últimos serán primeros y los primeros serán últimos».

Jesús predice de nuevo su muerte

17 Mientras subía Jesús rumbo a Jerusalén, tomó aparte a los doce discípulos y les dijo: 18 «Ahora vamos subiendo a Jerusalén y el Hijo del hombre será entregado a los jefes de los sacerdotes y a los maestros de la Ley. Ellos lo condenarán a muerte 19 y lo entregarán a los gentiles para que se burlen de él, lo azoten y lo crucifiquen. Pero al tercer día resucitará».

La petición de una madre

20 Entonces la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo, junto con ellos, se acercó a Jesús y, arrodillándose, le pidió un favor.

21 —¿Qué quieres? —preguntó Jesús.

Ella le dijo:

—Ordena que en tu reino uno de estos dos hijos míos se siente a tu derecha y el otro a tu izquierda.

22 —Ustedes no saben lo que están pidiendo —respondió Jesús—. ¿Pueden acaso beber el trago amargo de la copa que yo voy a beber?

—Sí, podemos.

23 —Les aseguro que beberán de mi copa —dijo Jesús—, pero el sentarse a mi derecha o a mi izquierda no me corresponde concederlo. Eso ya lo ha decidido[d] mi Padre.

24 Cuando lo oyeron los otros diez, se indignaron con los dos hermanos. 25 Jesús los llamó y dijo:

—Como ustedes saben, los gobernantes de las naciones oprimen al pueblo y los altos oficiales abusan de su autoridad. 26 Pero entre ustedes no debe ser así. Al contrario, el que quiera hacerse grande entre ustedes deberá ser su servidor 27 y el que quiera ser el primero deberá ser esclavo de los demás, 28 así como el Hijo del hombre no vino para que le sirvan, sino para servir y para dar su vida en rescate por muchos.

Dos ciegos reciben la vista

29 Una gran multitud seguía a Jesús cuando él salía de Jericó con sus discípulos. 30 Dos ciegos que estaban sentados junto al camino, al oír que pasaba Jesús, gritaron:

—¡Señor, Hijo de David, ten compasión de nosotros!

31 La multitud los reprendía para que se callaran, pero ellos gritaban con más fuerza:

—¡Señor, Hijo de David, ten compasión de nosotros!

32 Jesús se detuvo y los llamó.

—¿Qué quieren que haga por ustedes?

33 —Señor, queremos recibir la vista.

34 Jesús se compadeció de ellos y tocó sus ojos. Al instante recobraron la vista y lo siguieron.

葡萄园工人的比喻

20 “天国好象一个家主，清早出去雇请工人到他的葡萄园工作。 2 他和工人讲定了一天的工钱是一个银币，然后派他们到葡萄园去。 3 大约九点钟，他又出去，看见还有人闲站在街市上， 4 就对他们说：‘你们也到葡萄园来吧，我会给你们合理的工钱。’ 5 他们就去了。约在正午和下午三点钟，他又出去，也是这样作。 6 下午五点钟左右，他再出去，看见还有人站着，就问他们：‘你们为甚么整天站在这里不去作工？’ 7 他们回答：‘没有人用我们。’他说：‘你们也到葡萄园来吧。’ 8 到了黄昏，园主对管工说：‘把工人叫来，给他们工钱，从最后的开始，到最先来的。’ 9 那些下午五点钟才开始作工的人来了，每个人都领到一个银币。 10 最先作工的人也来了，以为会多得一点，但每个人也是领到一个银币。 11 他们领到之后，就埋怨家主，说： 12 ‘我们整天在烈日之下劳苦，这些后来的人只工作了一个小时，你却给他们跟我们一样的工钱。’ 13 家主回答他们当中的一个，说：‘朋友，我并没有亏待你。你我不是讲定了一个银币吗？ 14 拿你的工钱走吧！我给那后来的和给你的一样，是我的主意。 15 难道我不可以照自己的主意用我的财物吗？还是因为我仁慈你就嫉妒呢？’ 16 因此，在后的将要在前，在前的将要在后。”

第三次预言受难及复活

17 耶稣上耶路撒冷去的时候，把十二门徒带到一边，在路上对他们说： 18 “我们现在上耶路撒冷去，人子要被交给祭司长和经学家，他们要定他死罪， 19 把他交给外族人凌辱、鞭打，并且钉在十字架上。然而第三天他要复活。”

不是要人服事而是要服事人

20 那时，西庇太的儿子的母亲，带着她的两个儿子前来见耶稣。她跪在耶稣面前求他。 21 耶稣问她：“你想要甚么？”她说：“求你下令，使我这两个儿子在你的国里，一个坐在你的右边，一个坐在你的左边。” 22 耶稣回答：“你们不知道你们求的是甚么。我将要喝的杯，你们能喝吗？”他们说：“能。” 23 他对他们说：“我的杯你们固然要喝，只是坐在我的左右，不是我可以赐的；我父预备赐给谁，就赐给谁。” 24 其他十个门徒听见了，就向他们兄弟二人生气。 25 耶稣把他们叫过来，说：“你们知道各国都有元首统治他们，也有官长管辖他们。 26 但你们中间却不要这样；谁想在你们中间成为大的，就要作你们的仆役； 27 谁想在你们中间为首的，就要作你们的奴仆。 28 正如人子来，不是要受人的服事，而是要服事人，并且要舍命，作许多人的赎价。”

治好瞎眼的人

29 他们从耶利哥出来的时候，有许多人跟着耶稣。 30 有两个瞎眼的人坐在路旁，听说耶稣经过，就喊叫：“主啊，大卫的子孙，可怜我们吧！” 31 群众责备他们，叫他们不要出声，他们却更加放声喊叫：“主啊，大卫的子孙，可怜我们吧！” 32 耶稣就站住，叫他们过来，说：“要我为你们作甚么呢？” 33 他们说：“主啊，求你开我们的眼睛。” 34 耶稣就怜悯他们，摸他们的眼睛。他们立刻能看见，就跟从了耶稣。
