예수님이 시험받으심
4 그러고서 예수님은 성령님의 인도로 마귀에게 시험을 받으러 광야로 나가 셨다.
2 예수님은 40일 동안 금식하여 몹시 시장하셨다.
3 이때 시험하는 마귀가 예수님께 와서 말하였다. “네가 하나님의 아들이라면 이 돌을 빵이 되게 하라.”
4 그러나 예수님은 마귀에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. “성경에는[a]‘사람이 빵으로만 살 것이 아니라 하나님의 모든 말씀으로 살아야 한다’ 라고 쓰여 있다.”
5 그러자 마귀는 예수님을 거룩한 성으로 데려가 성전 꼭대기에 세우고 말하였다.
6 “네가 하나님의 아들이라면 여기서 뛰어내려 보아라. 성경에는[b]‘하나님이 천사들에게 명령하여 손으로 너를 붙들어서 네 발이 돌에 부딪히지 않게 하실 것이다’ 라고 쓰여 있다.”
7 그래서 예수님은 마귀에게 “성경에는[c]‘주 너의 하나님을 시험하지 말라’ 는 말씀도 기록되어 있다” 라고 대답하셨다.
8 다시 마귀는 예수님을 데리고 아주 높은 산으로 올라가 세상의 모든 나라와 그 영광을 보여 주면서
9 예수님께 “네가 만일 엎드려 나에게 절하면 내가 이 모든 것을 너에게 주겠다” 라고 하였다.
10 그때 예수님이 말씀하셨다. “[d]사탄아, 썩 물러가거라. 성경에는[e]‘주 너의 하나님을 경배하고 그분만을 섬겨라’ 고 쓰여 있다.”
11 그러자 마귀는 떠나가고 천사들이 와서 예수님께 시중들었다.
예수님의 전도 시작
12 예수님은 요한이 잡혔다는 소식을 듣고 갈릴리로 돌아가셨다.
13 그러나 그분은 나사렛에 계시지 않고 스불론과 납달리 지방의 바닷가에 있는 가버나움으로 가서 사셨다.
14 이것은 예언자 이사야의 다음과 같은 예언을 이루기 위해서였다.
15 [f]“스불론 땅과 납달리 땅아, 지중해 동쪽 요단강 서편의 이방 사람들이 사는 갈릴리야,
16 흑암 가운데 사는 백성이 큰 빛을 보았고 죽음의 그늘진 땅에 사는 사람들에게 빛이 비치었다.”
17 이때부터 예수님은 “회개하라! 하늘 나라가 가까웠다!” 하고 전도하기 시작하셨다.
네 제자를 부르심
18 예수님은 갈릴리 바닷가를 거니시다가 바다에 그물을 던지고 있는 어부들을 보셨다. 그들은 베드로라는 시몬과 그의 형제 안드레였다.
19 예수님이 그들에게 “나를 따라오너라. 너희를 사람 낚는 어부가 되게 하겠다” 하고 말씀하시자
20 그들은 곧 그물을 버려 두고 예수님을 따랐다.
21 예수님은 거기서 좀더 가시다가 다른 두 형제 야고보와 요한이 아버지 세베대와 함께 배에서 그물을 손질하는 것을 보시고 그들도 부르셨다.
22 그러자 그들은 아버지를 배에 남겨 두고 즉시 예수님을 따랐다.
23 예수님은 갈릴리 지방을 두루 다니시며 회당에서 가르치시고 하늘 나라의 기쁜 소식을 전하셨다. 그리고 병든 사람들과 허약한 사람들을 모두 고쳐 주셨다.
24 예수님의 소문이[g]시리아까지 퍼지자 사람들은 온갖 질병과 고통으로 고생하는 사람들, 귀신 들린 사람들, 간질병 환자들, 중풍병자들을 수없이 데리고 왔다. 예수님은 그들을 모두 고쳐 주셨다.
25 갈릴리와 데가볼리와 예루살렘과 유대와 요단강 건너편에서 많은 사람들이 예수님을 따랐다.

Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness
4 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a]by the devil.2 After fasting forty days and forty nights,he was hungry.3 The temptercame to him and said, “If you are the Son of God,tell these stones to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered,“It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’[b]”
5 Then the devil took him to the holy cityand had him stand on the highest point of the temple.6 “If you are the Son of God,”he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’[c]”
7 Jesus answered him,“It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[d]”
8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
10 Jesus said to him,“Away from me, Satan!For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’[e]”
11 Then the devil left him,and angels came and attended him.
Jesus Begins to Preach
12 When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison,he withdrew to Galilee.13 Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum,which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali—14 to fulfillwhat was said through the prophet Isaiah:
15 “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles— 16 the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.”[f]
17 From that time on Jesus began to preach,“Repent, for the kingdom of heavenhas come near.”
Jesus Calls His First Disciples
18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee,he saw two brothers, Simon called Peterand his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.19 “Come, follow me,”Jesus said,“and I will send you out to fish for people.”20 At once they left their nets and followed him.
21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John.They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them,22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
Jesus Heals the Sick
23 Jesus went throughout Galilee,teaching in their synagogues,proclaiming the good newsof the kingdom,and healing every disease and sickness among the people.24 News about him spread all over Syria,and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed,those having seizures,and the paralyzed;and he healed them.25 Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis,[g]Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.

Tentación de Jesús
4 Luego el Espíritu llevó a Jesús al desierto para ser tentado por el diablo.2 Después de ayunar cuarenta días y cuarenta noches, tuvo hambre.3 El tentador se acercó y le propuso:
—Si eres el Hijo de Dios, ordena a estas piedras que se conviertan en pan.
4 Jesús respondió:
—Escrito está: “No solo de pan vive el hombre, sino de toda palabra que sale de la boca de Dios”.[a]
5 Luego el diablo lo llevó a la ciudad santa e hizo que se pusiera de pie sobre la parte más alta del Templo6 y le dijo:
—Si eres el Hijo de Dios, tírate abajo. Pues escrito está:
»“Ordenará que sus ángeles te protejan y ellos te sostendrán en sus manos para que no tropieces con piedra alguna”».[b]
7 —También está escrito: “No pongas a prueba al Señor tu Dios”[c]—contestó Jesús.
8 De nuevo el diablo lo llevó a una montaña muy alta. Allí le mostró todos los reinos del mundo y su esplendor.9 Y le dijo:
—Todo esto te daré si te postras y me adoras.
10 —¡Vete, Satanás!—dijo Jesús—.Porque escrito está: “Adora al Señor tu Dios y sírvele solamente a él”.[d]
11 Entonces el diablo lo dejó y ángeles acudieron a servirle.
Jesús comienza a predicar
12 Cuando Jesús oyó que habían encarcelado a Juan, regresó a Galilea.13 Partió de Nazaret y se fue a vivir a Capernaúm, que está junto al lago en la región de Zabulón y de Neftalí,14 para cumplir lo dicho por el profeta Isaías:
15 «Tierra de Zabulón y tierra de Neftalí, desde el Camino del Mar, al otro lado del Jordán, Galilea de los gentiles; 16 el pueblo que habitaba en la oscuridad ha visto una gran luz; sobre los que vivían en tierra de sombra de muerte una luz ha resplandecido».[e]
17 Desde entonces comenzó Jesús a predicar:«Arrepiéntanse, porque el reino de los cielos está cerca».
Jesús llama a sus primeros discípulos
18 Mientras caminaba junto al lago de Galilea, Jesús vio a dos hermanos: uno era Simón, llamado Pedro, y el otro, Andrés. Estaban echando la red al lago, pues eran pescadores.19 «Vengan, síganme—dijo Jesús—,y los haré pescadores de hombres».20 Al instante dejaron las redes y lo siguieron.
21 Más adelante vio a otros dos hermanos: Santiago y Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, que estaban con su padre en una barca remendando las redes. Jesús los llamó22 y dejaron enseguida la barca y a su padre para seguirlo.
Jesús sana a los enfermos
23 Jesús recorría toda Galilea enseñando en las sinagogas, anunciando las buenas noticias del reino y sanando toda enfermedad y dolencia entre la gente.24 Su fama se extendió por toda Siria y le llevaban todos los que padecían de diversas enfermedades, los que sufrían de dolores graves, los endemoniados, los epilépticos y los paralíticos, y él los sanaba.25 Lo seguían grandes multitudes de Galilea, Decápolis, Jerusalén, Judea y de la región al otro lado del Jordán.
